About Us

Good Food Journeys is a New Zealand company with a strong base in India. We are a passionate team dedicated to culinary travel, and our carefully planned itineraries are your passport to a world of culinary delights of India. Our mission is to offer unique and immersive experiences that combine travel and food, allowing food enthusiasts and travelers to explore Indian culture and tradition through the cuisine.

Our foundation is the Sanskrit phrase “Atithi Devo Bhava”, which literally means “Guest is God”. We strive to deliver high-quality experiences and excellent customer service. This includes personalized itineraries, knowledgeable guides, well-curated culinary activities, and attention to detail in every aspect of the journey.

People

Good Food Journeys is the idea of two friends – Amaresh Tiwari and Malhar Panchwagh. The concept was born out of our mutual love for travel, food and doing good for the community.

Amaresh Tiwari

Amaresh is based in New Delhi, India and looks after the Indian operations. He is responsible for ensuring that our guests travel in comfort and have an incredible holiday.
He is the Vice Chairman of India Convention Promotion Bureau, Board Member & Director of FAITH (Federation of Association of Indian Tourism & Hospitality) and Member of India MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Board. He has over 30 years’ experience in travel and tourism and has won several industry awards. He is a keynote speaker at many industry events such as the BRICS summit in Russia. He runs his own successful travel agency in India and is respected as an influencer within the travel industry.

His profile and network give us access to people, places and experiences that are not easily accessible to the average tourist visiting India, or to the average tour operator selling India as a destination.

Malhar Panchwagh

Malhar (Mal) is based in Auckland. He is Indian by birth and Kiwi by choice. He has lived in NZ for more than 20 years and is fortunate to have two ‘homes’, that are completely contrast to each other – one home is in beautiful and serene NZ, while the other is in the hustle and bustle of India which he is grateful to visit at least once every year.

Over the years he noticed that Kiwis have a genuine interest to visit and explore India, but there is also certain nervousness about going there alone and unescorted. He has worked in food and hospitality in NZ for 20 years and is aware of Kiwi’s love for Indian cuisine. Being a self-proclaimed foodie, the idea of Good Food Journeys was born to showcase India through the cuisine of the fascinating country.

Mal is available anytime if you have any questions about any of the itineraries or to help you with Visa procedure, or just for a chat over a coffee about your desire to visit India.

WHY US

We believe that a visit to India should be on everyone’s bucket list. It is a sensory experience like no other.
There are many tour operators offering travel to India. However, like other travel companies out there, we don’t use or depend on third party operators in India because we have our own office in Delhi with our own full-time staff, which gives us a strong local base and commitment to care.
Mal has roots in India and understands the Kiwi mindset. Amaresh has strong knowledge about tourism in India and extensive network in hospitality sector as well as in the Indian Government. This combination, and their mutual love for food and passion to showcase India and its culinary prowess to the world is the reason why you can trust us that your experience of India will be a magical one.
So, if you love fun, adventure, food, a bit of luxury, and are a traveler rather than just a tourist then allow us to plan the unforgettable holiday you have been waiting for. Join us on one of our group tours hosted by a well-known personality, embark on one of our holiday packages at a time that suits you, or we can design an itinerary that ticks all your boxes.
We invite you to join us and see for yourself why India has fascinated the world for hundreds of years, and support a Good cause while you are at it…
